Tagaytay Getaway

One thing I love about the Philippines is the vast diversity of places you can go and visit. We have seen all the different cultures from different places from the Visayas Region in Cebu, Dumaguete, Iloilo and Bacolod to Luzon in boracay, and Vigan. But today let me share my visit and getaway to Tagaytay.  Good thing I have kept my pictures in my cloud so I can share it to all of you.

The good thing about Tagaytay is that it is a very easy getaway from all the hassles of a City life from Manila. It only takes about 2 hours during traffic hours or an hour and a half if the road is free. Taking the skyway to the NLEX is the best road from Manila.

When getting to the place, you will be greeted with the cool breeze of the mountains.  What's even better is the beautiful view of the famous Taal Volcano sitting in the middle of Taal Lake.  Nothing compares to the beauty of the site.  Just take a look at the pictures I have shared below and you will get the idea.

Vigan - Joins the New 7 Wonder Cities of the World

After reading that vigan has joined the 7 new Wonder Cities of the World, I had to go to the City and see it for myself.  Vigan is located in the western coast of Luzon of the Philippine Islands, facing the China Sea and has become one of the very wonderful cities of the Philippines.  You will find there that the buildings have been well preserved and would take you back in time during the Spanish Era when they first took over the Philippines.  And when you walk through the streets of Calle Crisologo, you will be greeted with the strong Spanish-philippine culture through the different work of art of the dwellers staged in their beautiful Spanish buildings. I just love how all the streets have been preserved.  And the food, Oh the food! I just love to eat there as you sit in the streets with everyone around you having a good time. There is a small part in Dumaguete that look similar and in Cebu city particularly in Carcar but it is far from the very well developed and kept place of Vigan.  No wonder it has qualified as among the 7 wonder Cities of the World. You should visit there :)

Best way getting there is by plane or if you love to do road trip, it will be a long ride from Manila. But you can always drop by other cities along the way.

Bohol Adventure

From Boracay, I go to a another nearby Island, Bohol.  It is one of those small Islands of the Philippines that has so much to offer to its visitors. From Dumaguete, it will take you about one and a half hour via fast ferry.  Upon arrival, you will be greeted with the beautiful scenic beaches of the Island. But it's not all about beaches in this place.  They also have the very well know Chocolate hills that are just so tasteful to look at. There are also ancient Catholic Churches which are centuries old unfortunately, this was one of those destroyed during the last earthquake including the viewing deck for the chocolate hills. There is also the famous Sandugo shrine which is a big part in the history of the philippines.  Finally you will find in this small island the smallest monkey - the tarsier. But I am pretty sure the government has already taken initial steps to repair this wondrous beauties. Good thing I have save quiet a few good pictures in my cloud storage so I can share it here with you.  Hope you enjoy my pictures.

Boracay - Always my Favorite Destination in the Philippines

From Iloilo, it will take another few hours by bus or if you have your own ride, probably 4 hours to Katiclan where you will ride a bangka, going to the Island of Boracay.  This place is know for its white sand beach and parties that go on all night specially during Holiday Seasons.  The place is packed with people and it is just so much fun when you go there with your friends. There is just so much to do in Boracay and it has always been my favorite destination.  Like in Dumaguete Boulevard, you will also see the the beautiful sunset in Boracay and it is probably one of the best time of the day when most of the people would take their cameras and try to capture that wonderful moment before the night party begins.

Well, hope you enjoy my pictures ;)

Next Stop - Iloilo City

So from Bacolod City, we proceeded to Iloilo City which only takes a few minutes on a ferry boat. There are also carrier boats which are called Roro. Like in Dumaguete City, the beautiful place of Iloilo also has their very own festival called Dinagyan Festival.  The dances and customs are so amazing.  All with different colors and all done for their patron saint - Nuestra Senora de la Candelaria.  Just take a quick look at the pictures below and you will understand what I am telling you.   Not to mention the beautiful beaches and churches located in the City.  Next stop, we will be going to Boracay, the famous white sand beach of the Philippines.
